Traveling does things to a person. It changes you on a fundamental level. If you asked us to describe ourselves in one word, we'd say "total rebels". Go ahead, tell me that's two words. I read somewhere that chimpanzees won't eat unfamiliar red berries unless they see another chimp do it first. It's a self-preservation instinct, and it makes sense; some berries are poisonous. I'm learning that freelance writing is a lot like fishing. First, you have to scope out the waters, looking for the right place to throw out your hook. Then you have to dress up that hook as best you can and drum up a little interest. Once you get a bite, you have to play a game of back and forth until you can reel them in. If you're successful, you get to eat. If not, you get to come back and try again the next day.
